Are you a fan wanting to connect with a celebrity? Or maybe you’re a celebrity (aspiring or otherwise) wanting to connect to and build up a fan base? Or maybe you’re both. Either way, Fanado might just be the answer to your prayers. Acclaimed author Margaret Atwood and producer Daniel Edelman are raising funds for this unique online service, which has live video chats specifically tailored to allow any artist—an author, athlete, musician ect—to communicate with their fans and raise their profile. Now artists can give their fans a VIP experience, without the cost and hassle of security systems and venue renting. Fans pay to talk to the artist and can even get the artist’s autograph. Here’s how it works:
The artist draws or signs onto the electronic notepad…
Then the computer redraws it at the Fanado office, where it is promptly sent it to the customer.
Fans get just as much benefit as the artist.
Events are built around a backstage environment where fans with common interests can hang out, take part in public text chats, hold private video chats, discover new artists, learn about upcoming events, and make new friends.
Plus, camping out to get a glimpse of your favourite celeb is so last year.
Now you can meet your favourite author or celebrity in the comfort of your own home, wearing your favourite fluffy slippers (come on, you know you want to). Or else, chat to them while you’re out and about. Through the Indiegogo campaign, Fanado will become more portable.
We want to take Fanado wide by making it accessible to everyone with an iPad, iPhone or Android device.
This will allow them to fulfil their vision,
any artist, anytime, anywhere
However, this will only be possible if Atwood and Edelman raise $85,000 by July 28. So far, they have raised $20,000. To contribute or find out more, visit http://www.indiegogo.com/fanado.
So basically Fanado is an innovative service for a niche market… even if it did get that ABBA song stuck in my head the entire time I was writing this.
